“Having attempted the Flight Planning exam a couple of times prior and using other preparation courses on the market (which added up considerably from a financial perspective), I kept falling just short of passing. The course structure was designed really well and was easy to follow, and I felt that it provided me with the knowledge to not only pass the exam, but to understand the content and pass the exam well. “Tom is a teacher like no other. His extensive depth of knowledge and real-life airline examples are crucial to understanding Flight Planning. I love that he is able to relate questions to actual experiences and practical scenarios, making it easier and more memorable (and perhaps reminding us why we’re doing this!). His passion and drive are evident in his teaching: he’s always accessible and eager to help. Tom’s friendly and approachable attitude makes me feel comfortable enough to ask him any question, no matter how basic it may seem. His answers are logical, and he explains concepts clearly and methodically. It’s awesome that he marks and provides feedback on individual questions within ATPL Theory’s practice exams. I found this extremely helpful as I am not always sure if my ETAS and winds are correct, so once I’ve completed an exam I am able to scan my flight planning forms to Tom and he provides guidance to improve my accuracy and process: it’s a great learning exercise! I would recommend anyone doing Flight Planning to do his course at ATPL Theory, I can 110% say it’s the best I’ve seen in Australia!”
